A tribute to
Bio_

‘London Calling were formed in 2003 for a one-off gig for charity the year after Joe Strummer’s death. The now legendary first show had the band repeating their short set three times as various audience members sang along, while the tiny stage threatened to collapse.

After that the band decided to take things a little more seriously! After several line up changes and the tragic death of bass player Joe ‘Zep’ Guatieri the line up is now: Reg Shaw Guitar/Vocals; Dave Devonald Guitar/Vocals; Abel Markou-Inglis Bass/Vocals and James Wise Drums. London Calling have toured in Australia/New Zealand, USA, Europe and all across the UK.’

“The musical and vocal performances are close to spot-on, and ‘Joe’ sounds quite like Joe Strummer. The first album backdrop and choice of guitars add to the air of authenticity.”
The Clothesline
“The guitarist in a rock tribute act was quizzed as a terror suspect after sending a text message containing lyrics from a song by punk rock act the Clash to the wrong person”
evening standard
“If you closed your eyes it was as genuine sounding as it gets. Which is what I did at times. They were dressed the part, and they were flawless in their delivery of the album.”
Around The Sound
“They blast onto the stage in a blur of ferocious punk rock, igniting the front rows with their guitars leading the way”
Amplify
“The band are tight and deliver the songs with a passion and energy which transfers to the crowd who respond in kind.”
Bournemouth Echo
“and this outfit are impressive – a class act as much as a Clash act.”

“The nearest one can come to seeing The Clash perform live these days is to witness a tribute band. I, for one, have tended to stay away from a vast majority of them, however, there are a few that simply, in my opinion can’t be ignored. I’m referring to the likes of The Sex Pistols Experience, The Sex P*ssed Dolls, The Ramonas and London Calling.”
